Viktor and Rolf Spring 2010

In the sea of commercial runway shows that we've seen this season, it's always great to see houses that decide to stick their necks out and put on a true show.  I've admired Viktor and Rolf for years now because they are really combining fashion and art and have been doing so from the very beginning.  Their collections can be high concept at times, but they stick to their guns regardless of what the critics and buyers think of them and have managed to stick it out and create a name for themselves.  I was lucky enough to get to see their retrospective at the Barbican Gallery in London and it really added to the allure of what these guys do.  Is everything wearable?  Not at all.  But that's what is refreshing about this show.
